Treehouse of Hope Project Awarded $5,000 Grant

I am thrilled to announce that the Treehouse of Hope project has been awarded a Quality of Life grant from the Million Dollar Round Table Foundation in the amount of $5,000. The Grant will be presented to Ovarian Awareness of Kentucky at their annual Survivor Brunch on August 19th, 2017.

Founded in 1927, the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), The Premier Association of Financial Professionals®, is a global, independent association of more than 62,000 of the world’s leading life insurance and financial services professionals from more than 500 companies in 70 countries. MDRT members demonstrate exceptional professional knowledge, strict ethical conduct and outstanding client service. MDRT membership is recognized internationally as the standard of excellence in the life insurance and financial services business.

Through the Foundation, MDRT seeks to increase member and industry participation and to give funds to worthwhile charitable organizations throughout the world, and improving the quality of life for those in need.

I could think of no organization more worthwhile than Ovarian Awareness of Kentucky (OAK), who very existence is to improve the quality of life for victims of ovarian cancer, and to raise the awareness of the early warning signs of the disease.  The ladies of OAK have been very supportive of this project, and I simply can’t wait to have them step foot into the actual treehouse when completed in the Spring of 2019.

MDRT Grant

This grant money will help to further the goal of making the Treehouse Project a reality. Many in kind donations have already been received in the form of labor and materials, but this is the first significant grant money that has been awarded.  Hopefully, not the last.

I wish to express my sincere gratitude to MDRT Foundation for selecting my charity, OAK, as one of the qualifying grant recipients for 2017.   It is truly amazing when you can see an idea take off, and receive validation of the good cause by being awarded such a generous gift.

We will soon be shifting gears from just rearranging the land and a lot of dirt moving preparations to actually building in the trees! I hope to release project design drawings soon.  Stay tuned for more to come as the Treehouse of Hope continues to grow forward!
